NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Oct. 11, 2023 – The Regional Water Authority (RWA) announced today that it has acquired James Carboni Plumbing & Heating, a North Franklin, Connecticut-based company that specializes in plumbing and related services to residential and business customers. Terms of asset purchase were not disclosed.

This is the RWA’s third commercial acquisition since 2021 and is part of the company’s strategic focus to expand and diversify its commercial businesses to offer water service and solution capabilities to more people in Connecticut and mitigate prospective water rate increases for its utility customers.

The Carboni acquisition will operate under RWA Well Services, LLC, a subsidiary of RWA Commercial Enterprises, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the RWA.

"This acquisition allows us to offer an enhanced suite of plumbing and related services to a broader set of customers by adding to our portfolio of commercial offerings. Robert Laudette, Jr., the owner of James Carboni Plumbing & Heating, has worked at the business since 1973 and assumed ownership of it in 1987. He’s grown the business to include a team of skilled plumbing professionals dedicated to serving residential and business customers in Connecticut. Laudette will continue to manage the business after the close.
